Astrid and Macgregor met right when the pandemic turned everyones lives upside down. Unlike most people who found themselves hoarding toilet paper and binge-watching Netflix, these two were busy falling in love.
Astrid, a Colombian with a heart full of adventure, was living alone in Washington, D.C., when Macgregor, a Southern gentleman with a charming smile, swiped right. It was a match! From the moment they met, they were two peas in a pod, ready to take on the world together. The pandemic didnt stop them; they just got more creative.
Before long, they decided to move in together—a classic move for a couple whod only known each other for a few months. After all, life is short. Right? Instead of arguing over Who left the dishes in the sink? it was about How do we make the most of this time together? And they did just that. Whether biking along the Potomac, growing a tiny garden on the apartment balcony in Navy Yard, having wine on the rooftop with the city lights as their backdrop, scooting around Capitol Hill, or booking cheap flights to explore the US when no one else was traveling, they were inseparable.
Then, Macgregor received a call. His roots were calling him back South; Atlanta was pulling him in. The decision wasnt easy, but one morning, after some thought, Macgregor casually said, I dont expect you to leave everything behind and come down with me, but Id love it if you did. Astrid didnt hesitate. She wasnt about to let distance stand in the way of something so special. So, instead of going for the classic long-distance is too hard breakup, they jumped straight into the next chapter—moving across states together! They packed as much as possible into Macgregors truck bed and embarked on a ten-hour road trip.
A month into moving to Atlanta, they adopted Oliver, their mischievous but adorable mini-dachshund puppy. Six months later, they decided Oliver needed a partner—of course, he did! Its not like they needed an excuse to get another dog. They welcomed Olivia, a second bundle of cuteness to complete their squad. Their new home echoed with the sound of little paws on the hardwood floors, and suddenly, it didnt just feel like a house—it felt like home.
Being close to Macgregors family in Atlanta was a blessing for Astrid since her whole family was back in her home country. She was greatly missing her own family. It had been five years since shed seen them, after all. Macgregor could see how much she missed her loved ones every day that passed. So, as soon as it was possible for both of them, they packed their bags and went to visit Colombia! Macgregor was instantly charmed by the weather, the warmth of Astrids family, the beauty of the landscapes, and the food of her home country. He loved everything about it. Between the laughter, love, and delicious food, they both realized that the next big step in their story would be nothing short of magical.
